No Internet Censorship for Australia

censored

Electronic Frontiers Australia (EFA) has launched nocleanfeed.com as part of the campaign against Labors planed compulsory Internet censorship for all Australian homes and schools.  The censorship plans are shrouded in secrecy but will involve a massive federal government blacklist of website (both legal and illegal) that Internet Service Providers (eg Telstra, Optus and iiNet) would be forced to block Australian Internet users from accessing.  The proposed system has been compared to the Great Firewall of China used by the communist government to track users and prevent them from accessing news site such as bbc news, wikipedia and websites of human rights and religious organisations.

Remembering Tuskegee AND looking at the NT intervention

July 25, 2002 --Thirty years ago today, the Washington Evening Star
newspaper ran this headline on its front page: "Syphilis Patients Died
Untreated." With those words, one of America's most notorious medical
studies, the Tuskegee Syphilis Study, became public.

'Australia's Hidden Empire '-John Pilger

When the outside world thinks about Australia, it generally turns to
venerable clichés of innocence - cricket, leaping marsupials, endless
sunshine, no worries. Australian governments actively encourage this.
Witness the recent "G'Day USA" campaign, in which Kylie Minogue and Nicole
Kidman sought to persuade Americans that, unlike the empire's problematic
outposts, a gormless greeting awaited them Down Under. After all, George W

Price of Oil to hit $200 a barrel next year

Reports coming from North America is that Oil is going to cost $200 a
barrel next year I dont know how this will effect Australian pricing
but we can definetly expect a increase in the price of fuel seeing that
we import at least 30% of our oil from the War Torn Middle East, the
remaining 70% of our Oil is sourced locally, Bass Strait, Western
Australia, Timor, exploration in the Northern Territory, Also Ethanol
has started to be produced from Sugar Cane in Australia & 10% of
this Ethanol is added to our regular fuel helping to bring down the

Australia a Nation of Retards

Today there is basic little or no industry in Australia, It will take generations for Australians to learn to be competent in making useful quality appliances useful for civilisation. There may be a way around this its called out sourcing parts, for eg: certain parts are made in different countries, like Europe, Russia, North Americas, Australia & New Zealand or Asia & then the appliance is assembled in one of these countries, out sourcing helps to develop skills.

All troops out of Afghanistan? Then what?

This is a response to the 'Media Release' entitled 'All Troops Out of Afghanistan'.

You
want all troops out of Afghanistan. That won't work: Taliban troops
will remain, and will inevitably take over again. Many Afghanis seem to
want Taliban rule. They have stated that under the Taliban, there was
less corruption ("Weekend Magazine" April 2008).

Struggling for the autonomy of Venezuela’s social movements

* This editorial comes from issue #53 (May-June 2008) of El Libertario, a Venezuelan anarchist voice of ideas and proposals for action. It confirms our commitment to autonomous social mobilization, which has already begun to express itself through concrete struggles from below, as in the recent steelworkers conflict.

America's Germ Warfare Capabilities developed in secret in US Corporate Labs

The costliest, most grandiose research scheme ever attempted having germ warfare capability is going forward under President Bush and in apparent defiance of international treaties such as the Geneva Convention of 1925 that bans biological agents.

The star-studded hue and cry to "Save Darfur"

The star-studded hue and cry to "Save Darfur" and "stop the genocide" has gainedenormous traction in U.S. media along with bipartisan support in Congress andthe White House. But the Congo, with ten to twenty times as many African dead over the same period is not called“genocide” and passes almost unnoticed.
