PayPal Ripoff

I sold a Mac computer on eBay for $775.

The person refused to pay by bank transfer instead insisting on using PayPal.

Just went to get my money and the PayPal fee for this transaction was $18.90.

What the hell is going on? Where is consumer protection in Australia?

I found a few other complaints about PayPal on the net.
