Dreams of Home / Artist talk with Rich Wiles / May 31

Date and Time:
31/05/2008 - 2:00pm - 31/05/2008 - 3:00pm

Rich Wiles, the curator of "Dreams of Home", a photographic exhibition currently showing at the Chrissy Cotter Gallery in Camperdown, will be giving his final talk there on Saturday the 31st of May at 2pm.

"Dreams of Home" photographic exhibition is the result of a project led by Rich Wiles exploring issues of identity of children living in the Aida Refugee Camp in Bethlehem.

He took a group of children back to the original Palestinian villages of their parents and grand parents to seek out the links between the memories they had been listening to and the realities of these now depopulated villages.

Rich Wiles' project also resulted in a book carrying the same name as the exhibition.

Rich will be talking about his project experiences and he will be showing digital versions of his and the children's photographs.

A selection of Rich Wiles own photographs Portraits of Palestine 2003-2007, showing images of people's daily lives, complements the Bethlehem children's photographs.

"Dreams of Home" is supported by the Friends of Bethlehem and Marrickville Council.

The exhibition closes this Sunday 1 June. Gallery opening hours is daily, from 11am to 4pm.
