Tassie's forests. Pulped or protected? - Rally and march in Melbourne

Date and Time:
15/06/2008 - 11:45am - 15/06/2008 - 2:00pm

The ANZ can stop the pulp mill by refusing to finance it. We are holding a rally and march in Melbourne to demonstrate the continuing community opposition to the pulp mill and to convince the ANZ not to finance it.

Stopping the pulp mill is crucial because it will be a disaster for climate change. It will be 80% native forest-based, consuming an area of forest equivalent to 100 000 MCGs.

This rally and march can demonstrate to the ANZ Bank that the community does not want them to finance the mill.

If you have friends or family who live in Melbourne, please contact them and encourage them to go to this very important event.

You can help us in the lead up to the rally itself, by helping out with the organising at our Melbourne and Tasmanian campaign centres, or by attending lead-up events. This Tuesday 7th May there will be a media launch of the rally. For further information please contact us on (03) 6224 1550 in Tasmania or (03) 9038 0888 in Melbourne.
