      Between 1940 and 1945, sixty-one German cities with a total population of
      25 millions were destroyed or devastated in a bombing campaign initiated
      by the British government. Destruction on this scale had no other purpose
      than the indiscriminate mass murder of as many German people as possible
      quite regardless of their civilian status. It led to retaliatory bombing
      resulting in 60,000 British dead and 86,000 injured.

A group of 11 students from the University of Newcastle had a tent-in outside a Centrelink office in Newcastle on Tuesday to protest against the age of independence.

The group set up a tent and handed out flyers until 2am, calling on the Federal Government to lower the age of independence for Youth Allowance to 18. Under current arrangements, students under the age of 25 are not eligible for Youth Allowance on their own merit unless they are considered independent, usually by earning more than $18 850 in a year.

Climate Protestors have struck again causing workers to take a break for a couple of hours at the Carrington Coal loading Terminal in Newcastle, the world's largest coal port. People for Climate Action Now carried out the action to protest the lack of action on climate change by world leaders gathered at the Asia Pacific Economic Co-operation forum in Sydney. Carrington coal terminal was targeted because it is one of the world's largest coal ports.
