Anti -war Hiroshima and Nagasaki month:Imperialist war But ;"Who Started the Blitz"?

Between 1940 and 1945, sixty-one German cities with a total population of
25 millions were destroyed or devastated in a bombing campaign initiated
by the British government. Destruction on this scale had no other purpose
than the indiscriminate mass murder of as many German people as possible
quite regardless of their civilian status. It led to retaliatory bombing
resulting in 60,000 British dead and 86,000 injured.

Arrests at Community Blockade Against Melbourne Desalination Plant

8th July 2008: About 30 members of the Bass Coast community, centred on Wonthaggi southeast of Melbourne, took a stand against further drilling equipment being delivered to the desalination site. The site was blockaded by the community in a peaceful protest for over 5 hours, resulting in expensive delays to contractors. More info from Your Water Your Say.

Tassie's forests. Pulped or protected? - Rally and march in Melbourne

Date and Time:
15/06/2008 - 11:45am - 15/06/2008 - 2:00pm

The ANZ can stop the pulp mill by refusing to finance it. We are holding a rally and march in Melbourne to demonstrate the continuing community opposition to the pulp mill and to convince the ANZ not to finance it.

Stopping the pulp mill is crucial because it will be a disaster for climate change. It will be 80% native forest-based, consuming an area of forest equivalent to 100 000 MCGs.

This rally and march can demonstrate to the ANZ Bank that the community does not want them to finance the mill.
