Police in our community and responsible ethanol drug dealing

A Coffs Coast Drug Advocate advertising feature MINUS the whitewash:

On Sat. March 24th, 2007, our local newspaper decided to do an ethanol drug write-up, make it as attractive as possible, surround it by ethanol drug dealing advertisements and put pictures of happy, smiling, underage ethanol drug consumers on one side of it, and happy, smiling drug dealers on the other.

_____________________________

ARTICLE 1:(minus the bias and the whitewash) is as follows:

Ethanol drug dealing collective (Coffs Harbour Liquor Accord) aims to curb ethanol drug related crime.

The Coffs Harbour ethanol drug dealing collective is a voluntary agreement between drug dealers, police and other vested interests and is based on harm minimisation when it comes to the drug Ethanol and the responsible drug dealing principles contained within Ethanol drug dealing laws.

(Question: How can a drug dealer or a police officer, or anyone else for that matter, actually apply Harm Minimisation practices, when they do not know or do not choose to apply the Criteria of harm involved (mortality, morbidity, toxicity, addictiveness and association with crime) when it comes to drugs of choice?)

The Strategy aims to:

…… reduce ethanol drug related harm and crime (see below), and prove the safety and security of the drug consuming/dealing environment,

…….reduce the economic and social ethanol drug relating cost to the community,

…… to promote and assist ethanol drug dealing staff in the practice of responsible drug dealing, in all ethanol drug dealing premises.

…….to support the responsible consumption of the drug ethanol, and to maintain legal requirements.

ARTICLE 2:

Know when to go

If you’re planning a Big Night Out consuming the drug ethanol, (whether use or abuse it doesn’t matter), remember it’s a good idea not to outstay your welcome at your local drug dealer. Local Police are now targeting ethanol drug consumers, who have been asked to leave a drug dealing and consuming establishment because they are intoxicated/under the influence of drug abuse.

“We need to let people know they have a responsibility”, Const. Marissa Bremner said, “By all means go out and consume drugs, but don’t go and get really intoxicated”.

(Question: How come Police/vested interests are stating to us that we can go out and consume drugs all night, while at the same time they tell us, “Don’t take drugs”? How come individual responsibility is allowed and encouraged when it comes to the drug our Police, Politicians, vested interests etc. all indulge in and advocate, yet when it comes to any other drug of choice (caffeine and nicotine excluded) our responsibility, our decision making, our right of USE etc. have been usurped and stolen away from us, and given only to the drug dealing and consuming collectives of the recreational drugs ethanol, nicotine and caffeine? But, even the ones that seek - through apartheid discrimination policies - to deny us this right, believe and state:

“The Government should not usurp heavy handed and ill-considered regulations for individual responsibility, and I mean individual responsibility”, Christopher Pyne.

“The role of Government is not to tell the people what risks and choices they can and can’t take”. P.M. John Howard.

“Australians should not be kow-towing to anybody when it comes to freedom in this country”. Opposition Leader Kevin Rudd.

The article continues:

Unfortunately, (thanks to drug abuse), judgement is impaired when ethanol drug consumers abuse their drug of choice, and they need to be reminded to keep their behaviour in check“. i.e. to respect what they use and choose not to abuse, whatever drug they choose.

Const. Bremner continued, “Our resources are tied up as a result” (…we would actually have enough police resources if we would stop wielding and manipulating our police to hunt down use and choice, when they are supposed to be targeting abuse and abuse alone).

Const. Bremner, “And every Friday and Saturday night we have to deal with the ethanol drug abuse fuelled problems”. (Friday night’s a great night for………………….????? Domestic violence, child abuse, street and pub/club assaults, wanton destruction, desecration, sexual assault and so on).

“And while ethanol drug dealers do their best (and are protected by us even when they don’t), they can’t control their drug’s consumers’ behaviour”.A recent NSW Police Campaign, “Take the Hint, Call it a night without the fight”, highlights that those who are asked to leave, and refuse to do so, risk an on the spot fine etc. (Damn! We could have sworn that this statement just highlighted the fact that ethanol is the most violence involved/causing drug in the world).

You are not allowed by law (states the article) to stay at ethanol drug dealing and consumption premises if you are…..intoxicated (ask people why they go to the pub and most, especially the young, will say, “To get pissed/intoxicated/drunk etc)” i.e. Man goes to pub, walks up to bartender, bartender asks, “What can I get you?” “Drunk thanks”, was the reply. The bartender said, “You do realize don’t you, mate, that we can serve you ethanol drugs until you get drunk/intoxicated/quarrelsome/disorderly, then we have to throw you out for other people to deal with”.

WHY? Because…to continue the article….

The laws are in place to protect the rights of ethanol drug dealers, their staff and other ethanol drug consumers. So, if you are asked to leave an ethanol drug dealer’s, don’t fight about it.

ARTICLE 3:

Mum and dad, know where the kids are and what drugs they’re on..and kids, do the same. Know where your mum and dad are, and what drugs they’re on.

Snr Const. Bremner said, “One of the most serious ethanol drug related problems is the gathering of under-age ethanol drug consumers at beaches and local reserves. Teenagers often approach strangers, or get an older brother, sister or friend to buy them the drug ethanol“. (Just like any other drug).

“Those supplying the drug ethanol don’t think about the chain effect of their actions with malicious damage, noise complaints and police resources being tied up”. (And this is the ‘all good, advocated by most, anything but a drug. Proven by this article with not one part of the 2-page spread daring to mention that ethanol is actually a drug. Instead we get the same buzzwords of ‘drink, grog, booze etc’)

She continued, “And that’s not to mention the damage kids do to themselves, healthwise, and the lack of control they display when under the influence of this drug. Unfortunately, (thanks to drug abuse) things happen while under the influence (of this class A drug on par with heroin) that wouldn’t normally occur”.

“It can lead to serious repercussions down the track”. (Like what, you ask?..See below) “..including being unable to find employment because of past actions/abuses”. (On the other hand, anyone who chooses the competition’s drugs e.g. Cannabis are instantly subjected to these serious repercussions even just for moderate use).

“Parents need to know where there kids are. Their kids are not in a controlled environment, so anything could happen including sexual assault and malicious damage”. (Free condoms, anyone? 30 legal lethal weapons in one carton anyone?). “Recently underage (ethanol drug fuelled) beach parties have become a serious problem for police, with gatherings getting larger and more out of hand”. (She forgot to mention that Police as well as ambo’s, security guards and average citizens are now regularly being attacked, across Australia, by ethanol drug abusers wielding their weapon of choice…bottles, glasses, etc…while under the influence of the abuse of their drug of choice - albeit an advocated one!)

(Question: Why haven’t the Police etc. implemented a ‘Dob in a dealer’ policy when it comes to under-age ethanol drug consumption and the abusive dealing practices that put the drug, ethanol, into children’s hands? Why aren’t the police threatening children with jail, persecution, fines, rape in jail etc (as they do with so-called ‘illicit’ consumers) to FORCE them to ‘dob in their dealer? Why can terrorism be applied on one side of the coin and not the other?)

ARTICLE 4:

How the Drug Ethanol stacks up

A standard ethanol drug dose has about 10 grams of pure ethane hydroxide drug in it. Some examples of a standard ethanol drug dose are:

A nip of spirits - 30 mls

A small glass of wine - 100 mls (12% per volume)

Regular beer - 285 mls

Light beer - 425 mls

Port - 60 mls

Other alcohol facts: A 750 ml bottle of wine, at 12% ethane hydroxide drug dose, contains about 7 standard drug doses. A 750 ml bottle of spirits contains about 24 standard drug doses. A bottle of ethanol drug fused ‘soft drink’ (RTD) is about 1.5 standard drug doses, and a can of mixed ethane hydroxide drug forms and ‘soft drink’ is nearly 2 standard ethanol drug doses.

One would have thought with the words ‘alcohol’ and ‘facts’ being put together, that they would have left off all the drug dealing establishment ads stating they’re ‘proud to deal drugs while working with police in the community’, and instead use up this space with stating the 60 medical conditions caused by the drug Ethanol as this would have been a more responsible act than just stating, ‘Responsible Service’.

Considering that the Drug Ethanol is a proven cancer causer, and that we sent (one month ago) ethanol and cancer information to Cr. Rod McKelvey, so that he could address this important issue, we find it quite insulting that no mention has been made when it comes to this drug and cancer, or about psychosis, schizophrenia, dementia, diabetes, central nervous system damage, organ damage, neuro-toxic poisoning, alcoholic hepatitis, pellagra, foetal alcohol syndrome, anti-social personality disorder, amygdaloid syndrome (to lose control of one’s rage response) etc. etc. etc. There wasn’t even a mention, anywhere, that ethanol was a DRUG! The drug dealers didn’t mention it; the police didn’t mention it; our drug Advocate - who printed the article - certainly didn’t mention it. Why should they? They get their money by advertising and advocating the drug ethanol.

They try to tell us that reports of young people at beach parties consuming the drug ethanol (they called it a drink), using illicit drugs, and causing damage to property…prompted a $270,150 Federal Government Grant to address the issue (just in time for the elections). Now, considering that these same ethanol and other drug fuelled parties have been going on for years, with no-one really giving a damn, makes us wonder why we can only get things done in this country when it comes to important issues, when there is an election on, or when someone is ‘grandstanding’ or ‘crusading’ (usually to cover up their own crimes and abuses).

Every time Governments throw money on something, as a QUICK FIX, it detracts from the truth being exposed, and that simple truth is that….no matter what the subject matter is or entails, ABUSE IS THE PROBLEM. It always has been and it always will be. And when we hear about crises exploding when it comes to subject matter, we just think to ourselves, “How long is it going to take and how much apartheid discrimination must this country go through before the ones who supposedly run it figure out that …..abuse is the problem and that, abusive apartheid/social segregation discrimination policies only contribute to the problem.

True harm minimisation can only be applied when it comes to all drugs, when the following is applied to them:1) Re-establish the Criteria of Harm

2) Clearly define the difference between USE and ABUSE in application and/or action/consumption.

3) Realize that a drug is a drug is a drug

4) Understand that drugs…if you don’t eat, they eat you.

5) Get informed, get healthy and respect your drug of choice.

(Respectful use means : to look again at your actions to make doubly sure that what you are doing/applying/consuming is truly beneficial to you and those around you). After the articles…..next page had 3 celebrity stories all involving the drug ethanol. “Britney goes to rehab for ethanol drug counselling”, “Desperate Housewive’s star, Jesse Metcalfe, has gone into rehab over alcohol issues” and “Vivica Fox, actress, arrested for drunken driving’. Hmm. Hang on, didn’t our own Keith Urban get out of rehab. For ethanol drug addiction/abuse? Ethanol…the ‘new’ Celebrity heroin/cocaine!

Kidney disease hits record numbers

A new report shows a record number of Australians have kidney disease.

Six Australians start treatment for kidney disease each day.

The Australian and New Zealand Dialysis and Treatment Registry shows the number of people with kidney disease jumped by almost 12 per cent in 2005.

By the end of that year, more than 15,000 Australians were on kidney dialysis or living with a kidney transplant.

Professor Graeme Russ from Adelaide's Queen Elizabeth Hospital says kidney disease can be caused by diabetes, high blood pressure, smoking and obesity.

Doctors want patients to be offered regular kidney check-ups as part of preventative health care.
