Joining the Collective
Posted March 26th, 2006 by camSydney Indymedia is an open collective, so anyone can join...and we are always after more volunteers.
If you wish to get involved there are two main ways:
- Show up at the monthly collective meeting. The meeting time and place is at the top right of this page.
- Join the IMC Sydney mailing list. This is the main organising list for Sydney Indymedia. Subscribe over here: http://lists.cat.org.au/mailman/listinfo/imc-sydney . Once you are subscribed, send an introduction to the list saying you want to join the collective. Then come to the next monthly meeting.
You should also read and agree to the Principles Of Unity. They can be found here: http://docs.indymedia.org/view/Global/PrinciplesOfUnity . This document is what outlines how all local Indymedia collectives should operate - they bind the Indymedia network together.

imc-sydney is the main organising list for the Syndey Indymedia collective. People joining other lists should join this one as well so there is a central place of co-operation.

Sydney Indymedia Charter and Editorial Guidelines
Posted August 1st, 2005 by stacyMission Statement
1. IMC Sydney is a news activist collective and an open publishing website.
2. The goal of the website is to have a place where articles produced by independent journalists can be published. One of the main reasons for having an IMC Sydney website is that it is a source of news not normally attainable in mainstream and commercial outlets with a distinct local to Sydney and NSW flavour.
3. IMC Sydney is committed to freedom of speech and non-censorship.
