The group of weirdos who brought this action are satan worshippers.
They base their beliefs around Alistair Crowley's book. So much for
freedom of speech. I know these two people and they are very good
people, very concerned about the planet. I was working on an article
about this but you beat me to it. I will write to you, guys.

Be careful what you say everyone, these people have money and will
sue. But just see for yourself what this organization is about.

In the same circumstances, we could easily be shut down. I have seen a
lot of posts here that would be found to be defamatory of various
politicians, etc, if they were to take the matter to court. This is
wrong: we should be allowed to say what we think regarding
organizations or persons of high profile. But we need to be very aware
of this shocking case. This is known as a S.L.A.P.P.: Specific Lawsuit
Against Public Participation.

The operators of Gaiaguys.net are obviously some seriously irrational conspiracy theorists. That said, I'm no fan of court ordered shut downs of websites, no matter how ridiculous the content.

Freedom of speech is one thing. Outright lies set up to cause hatred against a group of people is another thing altogether. Free speech is the ability to express your opinions without fear of persecution and its importance is absolute. But when the freedom of speech is used to spread some pretty nasty lies disguised as researched news, then that's a real abuse of freedom.

There is a massive gulf between speaking your opinion about an issue, and reporting a lie as if it was fact. The OTO guys have every right to fight against this blatant abuse. And I suspect most people out there would also do the same if someone created a site accusing them of those heinous crimes.

The owners of the website took the whole site down not because of the contempt order, or the original order to remove specific materials, but because they said an alien named “Ptaah” personally advised them to. 

It appears aliens had a better grasp of defamation and contempt laws than their human interpreters.

Crowley was once the head of Ordo Templis Orienti. If Crowley wanted
'murder' and 'rape', then that must be what they aspire to also.

Regardless,
these OTO people are as dangerous to people's mental health as the
Scientologists. Another stupid cult full of stupid people who can't
think for themselves.

Hopefully all this publicity will have
the cops checking out these idiots, tapping their phones and making
sure they don't do anything illegal. That's one good thing that's come
out of it.

They deserved the court ruling and penalty. The ultimate slander anyone can make is one of child abuse. People cannot ruin anothers life by false statements of protrayed as fact.
