Piles Creek Inquiry reopens today 1 July

The old pacfic highway collapsed into Piles creek on the 8 of June 2007. The Coroner called four wittinesses back to answer more questions Peter Wilson GM Gosford City Council, Stephen Glen, Mr Bent and Mr Plowman to explain how it was possible that the council had overlooked the fact that one of its own staff had done an in house estimate of the cost to repair the rusted out pipes at Piles Creek, way back in 2002 an estimate in which one of its own ingneers arrived at a figure of $475.000.00 to fix the rusted out three pipe culvert. Readers should remember that the Deputy Mayor of Gosford City Council at the time of the road collapse was insisting these rusted out pipes were made of a special plastic called Brute Plastic and could not rust. This Independent councillor Craig Doyle likes his constituents to imagine him as a ROAD WARRIOR ! Yet when he is informed about the facts he wants to argue and mislead people in writing. After taking submissions the coroner has adjourned the inquiry untill the 17 of July at Sydney Central Court in Liverpool Street Sydney.
