Nothing wrong with working in the sex industry.

It is a massive and legitamate business.

Not enough Aboriginal people are involved.

Adults (18-24yo) dont need your protection or warnings.

Adults can make a the decision for themselves if they want to work in the nude or not.

But not old enough to voluntarily become part of the sex industry.

So where are all the parents of the junkie kids? Why have you given them a free pass Laurel?

There is a big difference between legitamately choosing to work in the sex industry and being coerced to travel to a foreign country with promises of easy money for bar work only to end up in a brothel. There are numerous cases where people find they have no choice but to work as prostitutes to pay off their 'free trip and accomodation'.

So, 'sex industy', when a company tries to trick Aboriginal youths into becoming prostitutes, it's advertising, and when a group organises to advise Aboriginal youths not to do so, they are interfering in a personal matter.... right.

Isn't it obvious that if businesses have the right to advertise then other groups have the right to campaign against them.  I guess it is unless you're highest value is making money.

On the criticism itself, I cannot judge the whole of the 'sex industry' but two criticisms have already been made here.  First, that the people involved are being tricked.  Second, that being far from home makes it easy to do things like force them to work so they can get back home.  It's pretty obvious that even by 'liberal' standards, what's going on here is not OK.

...studies show a significant proportion in the sex industry have serious psychological disabilities and as such are very vulnerable, maybe even as high as 50%. Sort of explains the prominence of drug use amongst sex industry workers. A sad business on display in a very unglamerous way every delivery run through east sydney.

Garry, wheres a transcript of the conversation you had with police? What have you really done to stop Mr Joe Parazakoni entrapping our unprotected youth?

Why is everybody assuming this job was to do with the sex trade? I called the number and spoke to Mr Parzakoni. The condition of the return air fair was that I had to stay in his employment for the term I was working in Kos. I would be stood outside the bar in evenings getting people on there holidays from european countries, mainly English, to come in to buy drinks, I could then sit with them for 10 minutes, during the day I was required to go to swimming pools or beaches and hand out leaflets whilst sunbathing, shopping etc. I would be allowed free drinks while working and my living arrangments would be taken care of and I would receive a wage at the end of the week. I have a friend who went travelling to Europe and she did work in bars in Spain. There are alot of English youths who go out to Spain and Greece and Italy to do this work, They have a summer in the sun, meet lots of new people, work and have fun. All done fully clothed. Perhaps the leaflet wasnt thought through before being printed and worded wrongly. I dont know what the police or authorities can do about this as no law has been broken. I think its a case of advertising gone horribly wrong.

It appeards that Mr Parazakoni has 2 names. His alias "Giuseppe Fazzari" was accused of rape on the island last year by a young British girl. "Fazzari" was let out on bail after spending 4 days in jail being questioned and put before a sort of court. He is an Australian National with a history of crime and desruption here in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Anybody that comes into contact with this man shouyld be aware that he is a conman and a professional fraudster of the worst means.
