Why there was aboriginal Segregation in Australia

The main reason for aboriginal segregation was health reasons, aboriginals suffered high rates of ringworm, tapeworm & other types of worms, also they suffered high rates of lice & nit infestations. The aboriginal segregation policy was in acted so as to prevent the spread of these to the rest of the australian population or the colonialists as some might call them. In some parts of Australia these health concerns are still a major problem

Re: Why there was aboriginal Segregation in Australia

Others "might call them" colonialist white settlers. Land stealers.

And how might that terrible situation have developed?

Was it because they were different naturally afflicted by these problems genetically because they were black children of a lessor god?

Try looking at the material world instead of racial chauvinnist type  metaphysical analysis.

It began with them being chased off their tribal/nation lands ,the continental ringbarking of trees and resulting loss of traditional type hunting lands. in order  to convert their  lands to   suitable for  wool farming .

A good standard of modern  healthcare existed for the settlers paid for out of the profits made from exploiting the stolen land .

The Aboriginal first nations peoples were changed to refugees in their own land without any compensation or payment.

therby  forcebly  impoverished and made tio  to live unemployed or underemployed on the fringes of settler society unable to make  their living  in their traditional manner

You try living as a refugee ,as a fringe dweller and see if you do not quickly develope ringworms too ,instead of just the scabby mouth ,racist twaddle  justifications  you suffer from now.

What offensive crap

I've never read such a offensive comment on segregation.

Re: What offensive crap

this  comes from a recent  sbs program,on Kemsey in its context it wasnt so bad ,just a old person explaining how it was ,the actual practice how the local saw things.

They grew up with it.

Re: Why there was Aboriginal Segregation in Australia

I agree with the point of view of many white australian regarding the issue of segregation, because their view is that of the colonisers, they had no idea, my advise would be to read some of the literature that has been written by Aboriginal people on the subject, the problem with people like to person that explained that Aboriginal peope were segregated because of health reasons is crap, the history books of Australia do not provide a clear reason why this happened because it was all written by white colonists, that were sending this infomation back to England telling of how well the Aboriginal people of this counrty were being treated. yet back here the Aboriginal race was near extinct due to the diseases that the european baught to the country.

The segregation policy, YES POLICY that was developed by the government of this country to keep Aboriginal people at a disadvantage to all other Australian was and still is an attempt by the governments to controll and manage Aboriginal people.

I have studied the history books, and being Aboriginal myself i can tell you that before making judgement on issues that you know nothing about get your facts right.
