Free Lex Wotton - 1,000 signatures by August 9 and MR Ward Update

Dear friend of ISJA - Melb

We have been gathering signatures on the Free Lex Wotton petition for many
months now.

At our last meeting, we decided to develop a plan for submitting the
signatures the Queensland State Government that was designed to have maximum
impact.

First, we have set a goal - we want to reach at least 1,000 signatures of
people demanding Lex be freed immediately. We're not quite there yet and
need your help to give the petition an extra push.

The protestors are angry that heavily polluting industries, like aluminium smelting, will receive 90% of their pollution permits free from the Federal Government under the controversial Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme, allowing them to carry on largely unaffected by pollution constraints, and leaving the public to pick up the cost of reducing greenhouse emissions.
