Unusual Aircraft Contrails Linked To Bird Deaths In Esperance, Western Australia

From roughly August 2006 to May 2007 I lived in Esperance, Western Australia. It is a beautiful coastal town which happens to lie underneath the main East/West air route to and from the Eastern States.

As soon as I got there I noted the amazing aircraft contrails that filled the sky at times. These long thin lines would rapidly spread out and cover the entire sky with a thick haze that would gradually drift down and form a "haze" on the horizen. Locals assured me this was "normal". I however, begged to differ.
