People living near nuclear installations in Germany have been given the right to litigate against them.
This is the upshot of a ruling by the country's highest administrative court, the Bundesverwaltungsgericht in Leipzig. The case file is BVerwG 7 C 39.07.

Hunters Hill Council comments on accuracy of nuclear waste claims

I am pleased to write it is the first MEDIA RELEASE I have ever received, after being a lone activist for almost seven years. What is more important I feel obliged to support those items I publish on indy with as much checkable evidence of substance as I possibly can. I resent the inference that I am lazy. I am an advocate of the important international indy media process.

I was getting very bored of all the negative commentary surrounding
Peter Garrett’s selling his soul to the devil. Garrett provided much
inspirational music for the disaffected generation of which I must
include myself. To see Mr Garrett spasticating himself on stage in such
rages of passion was of great service to young Australians and indeed
young international souls that he reached. We could get along with our
business knowing that his rage and passion would somehow save the
world. How do we place such an enigmatic character of our generation

Marathon Not Running by The Rules - Uranium Venture Dumps Waste in Park

Alleged environmental contamination at the Mount Gee Uranium deposit in the far north of South Australia is being investigated by the SA Government and the Environment Protection Authority (EPA). (ABC News Wed Jan 16, 2008 5:25pm AEDT). The plan to extract seven billion dollars worth of Uranium ore has been controversial from the outset, with Mount Gee being situated in the Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary and the mining process posing considerable threat to the ecology of the area and the ancient aquifers connected to the Paralana hot springs, a site of significance for the Adnyamathanha people reports Nigel Carney on 17th January 2008.
