Invite to open Council meeting to hear from Australians for Palestine

The next Geelong Trades Hall Council meeting is on Tuesday 27 May at 7.00pm.
Council has invited Michael Shaik from the "Australians for Palestine" to be the guest speaker before ordinary business begins.
Council has also decided that this part of the meeting is to be open to the general public.
Please come along and learn more about the struggle of Palestinian workers.

Anti-Terror Cops Force Closure of Palestine Exhibition
Posted May 14th, 2008 by AnonymousSMH reports Anti-Terror police counter-terrorism operations confronted Leichhardt municipal library staff shortly before 8pm on Thursday 8th May 2008 in relation to an exhibition of photos, poems and articles. The exhibition organised by Friends of Hebron entitled "Al-Nakba" (meaning "day of the catastrophe") was to open on Friday but the display was removed friday morning.
A police spokesman said the officers had come only to "say hi" to Friends of Hebron members.
