Political hypocrisy reached a new height in the Australian State of Queensland on October 17, 2007, when Peter Wellington's Criminal Code (Double Jeopardy) Amendment Act passed through the Parliament with bipartisan support. This Act, introduced on the pretext of helping victims of crime, is in fact the worst blow to the families of murder victims in the history of that State.
