Water Cannon Inaction

The NSW Police intimidated protestors by flex their new shiny hardware. A water canon that makes up the centre piece of the Public Order & Riot Squad. The Water Cannon however did little more than roam around and taunt the crowds.

Water Cannon For Sale
Having clearly learnt nothing from recent events in the Middle East on the folly of relying on bad intelligence, We rather hastily spent $600,000 of tax payers money on this badass puppy.
We even went to the trouble of Pimping it up with a cool chequered decal in the style of a 1950 American cop car, and added a thumping stereo with subwoofer and tinted windows (money was no object at the time).
She has an airtight cabin to protect you from tear gas, and members of the public can't see or hear you laughing when you wash them off the streets because of the soundproofing and tinted glass.
Wire mesh covers its shatter-proof windows, and a heavy bar at the front allows you to ram any jay-walkers out of the way without scratching the paintwork.
It holds 12,000 litres of water to service its cannon, which is capable of knocking hippies off their bare feet at 50 meters and rupturing a peacenik’s spleen at 60 meters.
Now it appears this addition to the NSW Police Armoury is being seen as 'overkill' by the press and those left wing tree huggers are asking questions like why the hell we bought it in the first place, and could the money not have been spent better elsewhere?
If it’s not obvious from looking at the pictures and video why we bought this badass, mo-fo, then you deserve to be beaten up, and detained by badge-less riot police too!

It might be worth noting that it drinks fuel almost as fast as it squirts water, but hey with our boys in Iraq, and George on our side the price of fuel isn't going to be a problem for much longer!
(Due to water restrictions in some states, please email me before placing a bid, so I can confirm that we can ship it to you, without causing another PR disaster.)
Re: Water Cannon For Sale
Obviously the mad ravings of someone who puts themselves in the cross hairs of the operator. 1 x water cannon = nil violent protests, nil broken windows and nil property damage.
Re: Water Cannon Inaction
Water cannons were first devised for use on fireboats. Putting out fires
on boats and buildings close to the water was much more difficult and
dangerous before fireboats were invented. The first fireboat deployed
in Los Angeles was commissioned on August 1, 1919. The first fireboat in New York City was Marine 1, deployed February 1, 1891. There may have been other fireboats elsewhere even earlier. The presence of the media at riots has had a significant impact on water cannon use. There is much pressure on police
departments to avoid bad publicity, and water cannon often plays badly
in the press. It is considered that this is likely a reason that they
are not used more often in countries with a free press. During a riot in Sidney, the wonderful police officers succeeded to bring down the big artificial Christmas tree from the center of the market. This was something the media omitted in their newspapers.
